During the summer of 2002, Seth interned with a leading financial services provider. Energized by the experience, Seth wrote a business plan to help students stand out through customized internship programs and career advancement opportunities. Eight months later, Seth’s business plan won first place in the “Young Entrepreneur’s Business Plan Challenge,” and Career Explorations was born.

In 2008, Seth received the social impact award and was one of three winners in the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards, the "Heisman Trophy" for top undergraduate and graduate student business owners. Flowerman's list of entrepreneurial accolades also includes the Junior Achievement International Student Entrepreneur of the Year (2004) award, being named one Kaplan’s Most Promising Campus CEO's (2007), and being named to BusinessWeek's 25 Entrepreneurs under 25 (2008). He has also been featured in Forbes, The Boston Globe, and Yahoo! Finance.

Seth attended The Pingry School, holds a B.S in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University, and an MBA from the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management, also at Cornell. Seth enjoys soccer, great food, and unique travel experiences.
         
 Devin Stagg       Devin Stagg
Vice President | Head of College Programs
Devin previously worked as a banking analyst at Citi in Equity Capital Markets, where he advised a broad spectrum of corporate clients on products ranging from initial public offerings to convertible bonds. Devin left his finance position to design and develop the College Program division at Career Explorations. A strong believer in the value of early work experience, Devin held multiple internships in finance, real estate, and architecture during his high school and undergraduate career. Devin attended The Hotchkiss School and holds a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University. Before moving to New York City, Devin was a volunteer fireman, and remains passionate about fishing, diving, architecture, traveling, and photography.
         
 Jeff Sharpe      

Jeff Sharpe
Vice President | Head of High School Programs
Jeff is originally from New Canaan, CT and has a BA from Bucknell University and an MA from Dartmouth College. Jeff is a former Division I swimmer and an avid skier and whitewater kayaker. He enjoys adventure travel, playing guitar, following the latest news in world politics, and environmental conservation advocacy. Jeff is a former program director with Kaplan, Inc. and has been working with young people for over a decade as a tutor, mentor, and coach.

         
Aviva Vikstrom       Aviva Vikstrom
Director of Operations
Aviva joined Career Explorations in 2008. Aviva brings extensive experience developing and managing young adult education programs to CE, having previously worked in that capacity for George Washington University and Recreation Equipment Inc. (REI), as well as the Seattle, Washington School District. Aviva also worked as an outdoor educator and camp counselor and has held multiple internships herself in a variety of fields. Aviva is trained as a Natural Foods Chef and enjoys cooking for private clients and catering dinner parties in her spare time.  She also enjoys traveling, vegetable gardening, photography, and yoga. Aviva holds a B.A. summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in Anthropology from George Washington University.
         
 Todd Aronson       Todd Aronson
Director | Boston
Todd has been the Boston Director and Internship Coordinator for the past 4 years. He began working closely with the CE New York program and moved on to help create the Boston program. He is incredibly passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of high school and college students, both in professional development and with life tools. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sports Studies with a concentration in Performance Psychology from Ithaca College. He is currently continuing his education at Boston University acquiring his Masters In Education in 2010-2011. When not placing interns, meeting with families, mentors, and co-workers, he is playing baseball, ultimate frisbee, surfing, and playing tennis. In 2009 he became a Co-Owner of Career Explorations and is proud to continue assisting students in driving their future to their highest limits and beyond.
         
 Lauren O'Brien       Lauren O'Brien
Director | Chicago
Lauren brings a great deal of passion and creativity to CE, having previously created and executed vibrant advertising campaigns throughout North America during her role as Account Executive at NBC Detroit and NCC Chicago. Lauren graduated from Western Michigan University with two BA's; Organizational Communications and Comparative Religion. Throughout her high school and undergraduate career, Lauren has had a passion for her own professional development by interning in various industries, substitute teaching for Kalamazoo Public Schools, as well as taking on leadership roles in multiple WMU clubs and organizations. Lauren loves Chicago in the summer, yoga, reading, and competing in triathlons.
         
Peter Sloane        Peter Sloane
Director | New York City
With an unwavering passion and knowledge of New York City, Peter is an integral cornerstone of our New York operation. Graduating from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Communications, Peter has had extensive exposure to the countless opportunities that New York offers. With a diverse background in Marketing, Public Relations and Human Resources, Peter compliments the CE team with a skill set that specializes in the leadership, professional growth and development of individuals in a multitude of arenas. When not enjoying the fast paced energy of New York City, Peter can often been found training for his next road race in Central Park or on the Hudson River, relaxing on one of New York’s beautiful beaches or searching for the next ideal ski vacation with friends.
         
 Angela Harper-Pedersen      

Angela Harper-Pedersen
Director | San Francisco
Angela joined the CE team in 2009.  Angela is passionate about student development and experiential learning, and she brings to CE years of experience in leadership programming and higher education.  Angela has been active since her teens in community and political issues, and she has been involved in local and national advocacy and political campaigns.  Angela loves travelling, writing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.  Angela is an avid San Francisco 49ers fan and San Francisco Giants fan. Angela holds a B.A. in Political Science from San Jose State University.
