Boston Program Events, Seminars, & Networking

The Boston Internship Program events are one of the most popular features of our program. The events are planned to give you full exposure to your new city, while combining travel, with many of the most popular attractions in the city. Although your summer will be filled with gaining valuable work experience, it is very important that you gain the full experience of living in Boston, and our events will do just that. The following are just a few examples of activities from past programs, and the full roster of summer 2010 activities will be announced later in the year.

Tour of Boston

Your first weekend with us, you’ll get a tour of the historic city of Boston, on land and on water via Boston’s infamous Duck Tours. You’ll board a W.W.II style amphibious landing vehicle, the “DUCK” and you will be off on your merry way for a unique and “must do” tour of Boston. Together we’ll be awe-inspired as we cruise by all the places that make Boston the birthplace of freedom, from the golden-domed State House to Bunker Hill, Boston Common and Copley Square to the Big Dig, Government Center to fashionable Newbury Street, Quincy Market to the Prudential Tower, and more! As you smile and take plenty of snapshots share with friends and family on Facebook, be sure to tune into the interesting facts and insights our tour guide will share about our splendid city. You will not want to miss out on learning about the place you’ll call home for summer! We will enjoy a sumptuous meal in one of the Boston’s favorable sites! This is just a taste of all the delightful experiences that Boston has to offer.

Theater or Comedy Show

Boston is renowned for its variety of theater and entertainment performances. As we do for all of our programs, we aim to satisfy our city goers with the best and most popular entertainment offered in the city! We can assure you that it will be a “must see” - either a spectacular performance or a belly-wrenching comedy show. This experience surely will make for another memorable moment shared with the friends you’ve made at University of Dreams Program in Boston.

Boston Red Sox

Our event team is working to get tickets for our group to see the Boston Red Sox in action. As tickets are high in demand, we cannot make any guarantees. We can tell you that like any great baseball team, we are covering our bases, trying all angles and going to great lengths, to provide you with the all American experience at Fenway Park! Fun and recreation is extremely important to us, especially after a week of work. We have a lot in store and plans in place for you in the event that tickets are not available to our group.

Dinner Dance Cruise

Picture this - all of your closest friends are all decked out in their best black, white, or red attire for a classy event on a luxurious cruise boat on the Boston Harbor. Escape from the historic wonder and youthful spirit of Boston and revel in this fun and festive cruise with your peers! We will begin with a delectable dinner followed by dancing to some of your favorite songs. When you need a breather from cutting a rug on the dance floor, take a step outside and get a bit of fresh air on the balconies while taking in the breathtaking views of the Boston skyline. This event is one of the biggest hits of the summer!

Overnight to Cape Cod

Like many east coasters who want to retreat from the city, we will have a weekend get-away to the beautiful beaches and picturesque nature of Cape Cod. There is plenty to do here from walking trails, to sunbathing on the beach, to shopping in charming boutiques, to experiencing the vibrant nightlife! As you live and work in the city of Boston for the summer, it will be refreshing to take in the fresh air, scenic views, and new experience of Cape Cod.

Unsponsored Events

To help you build your friendships and get more comfortable with the city, the staff will continuously be planning unsponsored activities for the entire group to take advantage of. These activities are optional, but they will make sure to get you acquainted with your new city, as well as keep your social calendar full.
