Las Vegas Program Events, Seminars, & Networking

The Las Vegas Internship Program events are one of the most popular features of our program. The events are planned to give you full exposure to your new city, while combining travel, with many of the most popular attractions in the city. Although your summer will be filled with gaining valuable work experience, it is very important that you gain the full experience of living in Las Vegas, and our events will do just that. The following are just a few examples of activities from past programs, and the full roster of summer 2010 activities will be announced later in the year.

Tournament of Kings

With all that Las Vegas has to offer, you will kick start your summer with the most popular dinner show in Las Vegas, Tournament of Kings. You will view an amazing show of invading armies, dancing maidens, jousting, fireworks, and you will enjoy a feast fit for kings and queens! A Vegas trip wouldn't be complete without attending a Vegas show. This show will definitely satisfy your appetite for adventure!

Hoover Dam Tour

The Hoover Dam is one of Las Vegas’ most popular attractions! It is a breathtaking sight that stands 725 feet above the Colorado River. You will not only get to see the dam up close, you will also get to learn more about the history of the dam, view a short educational film, stroll through the exhibit gallery and take an elevator down 500 feet to see generators in the dam’s power plant. You will also have access to an observation deck where you can capture many beautiful pictures. Our tour will then continue to the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory and Botanical Cactus Gardens where you will get to see how chocolates are made, sample a couple of complimentary pieces and enjoy a walk through the beautiful Cactus Gardens, one of Las Vegas’ unique attractions. This is one amazing tour you will not want to miss!

Overnight on the Ranch

Here’s your chance to experience life “out on the range” as a cowboy/girl. Upon arrival to the Ranch, you will be greeted by “Bandits” and cowboys on horseback. They will “hold-up” our bus and direct us to the Ranch House for a warm welcome. The staff will divide the group into Cowboy “Gangs” and each “Gang” will take part in a number of cowboy-centric-activities. At the end of the day, the Wranglers will pitch the Plains Tepees around the campfire so you can sit back and relax in the soft night of the Mojave Desert. The tents are authentic reproductions of the tents used by the pioneer wagon trains as they crossed the Great Plains. Campo-mats, pillows, and sleeping bags will be provided.

Unsponsored Events

To help you build your friendships and get more comfortable with the city, the staff will continuously be planning unsponsored activities for the entire group to take advantage of. These activities are optional, but they will make sure to get you acquainted with your new city, as well as keep your social calendar full.

BBQ Pool Party

Join us for an exciting and fun filled afternoon! With 15 acres of pure tropical paradise, the pool at Flamingo Las Vegas is a wonderful place to wind down from the busy work week. The palm trees and grottos that surround the pool provide shade along with a nice retreat from the warm sun. For great tunes, music is provided by live DJs and there’s even a volleyball court to really bring on the beach atmosphere. It doesn’t get better than this!
