San Diego Program Events, Seminars, & Networking

The San Diego Internship Program events are one of the most popular features of our program. The events are planned to give you full exposure to your new city, while combining travel, with many of the most popular attractions in the city. Although your summer will be filled with gaining valuable work experience, it is very important that you gain the full experience of living in San Diego, and our events will do just that. The following are just a few examples of activities from past programs, and the full roster of summer 2010 activities will be announced later in the year.

Tour of San Diego

With San Diego new to our lineup this summer, you should get excited about what this city has to offer! We will kick start our summer with a tour for you to get comfortable with your surroundings and also make sure to take notes of anything you want to check out even further during your stay with us this summer. You will get a chance to see places like La Jolla, Coronado Island, and Old Town, just to name a few! This will definitely be a well-spent afternoon in San Diego!

San Diego Padres

Get ready to sit back, relax, and take in the sunset while enjoying one of America's favorite pastimes! What a great afternoon this will be in the California sun! Take some time to get your Padres gear ready and to top off the excitement of the game we'll be seated in the all-you-can eat pavilion so get your cheering voices and your hunger ready!

Seaside and Dels

It's time to live like the locals! This weekend you'll get to relax seaside, take in the views and the ocean and experince a San Diego must as you dress your best and head to the famous Hotel Del Coronado for every local's favorite brunch! This is no ordinary brunch as you will soon discover the elite of San Diego come out in their Sunday's best to mingle and have an incredible multi course brunch.

Unsponsored Events

To help you build your friendships and get more comfortable with the city, the staff will continuously be planning unsponsored activities for the entire group to take advantage of. These activities are optional, but they will make sure to get you acquainted with your new city, as well as keep your social calendar full.

 

Overnight in Vegas

Viva Las Vegas! What is a trip out to the west coast without making a quick stop in world famous Las Vegas! After a quick bus ride, you will check into your hotel centrally located on the strip, and have access to a variety of restaurants, theaters, casinos and much more. Vegas has so much to offer, so the question is, how much can you fit into 24 hours? On Sunday, the group will meet for lunch before hopping back on the buses to return to home. Who will be the big winner in our group this summer?!

Dinner on the Town

After an amazing summer with the University of Dreams, you will spend one final night celebrating with your peers. This will be the last chance to get together as a group and reminisce on what will surely be one of the best summers of your life. With a little bit of music, a lot of dancing and some great food, the night will be spent remembering the great times behind us and preparing for the lasting friendships ahead of you! This will be the best way to end an amazing summer in beautiful San Diego!

Seminars & Networking

The San Diego Speaker Series occurs once per week after work where industry professionals share their success stories and outline the essential aspects of preparing for life after college. The Speaker Series is a valuable aspect of the Internship Program, as it allows you to gain insight from industry professionals. Additionally, you will spend time building your professional network, as you will have time to talk with each at the end of their speech.

The purpose of the series is to give you a broader perspective, while inspiring you to think about what career you wish to pursue. Below is a snapshot of a few of the guest speakers we have hosted at previous programs.
