Our Promise to You

Dear Parents,

We understand that entrusting your son or daughter to us for a summer internship experience is a significant step. Please know that we take very seriously our responsibility for your child’s safety and success.

Career Explorations is committed is providing your child with a “jump start “on their career planning by providing genuine work experience within a highly supportive environment. Additionally, we provide an extensive calendar of activities to help cultivate a vibrant community and ensure all of our students are exposed to the diverse cultural, educational, and recreational resources of their host cities. We give all participants some free time to explore on their own, but we strictly enforce the “buddy system,” a sign-in/sign-out policy, and dorm curfews. Expectations for program participant behavior are outlined in the “Rules and Regulations” section of our application. These non-negotiable rules are established for the safety and well being of all program participants.

In addition to carefully selecting a great class of interns, we know that a great summer experience requires a great staff. In addition to our year-round Program Directors, we recruit and train college graduates with documented experience working with adolescents to be our Group Advisors or GAs. The GAs are active liaisons between interns and mentors, doing their utmost to assure an optimal internship experience. If there is a difficulty, we proactively work with the student and the mentor to resolve the issue. GAs supervise all excursions and create a healthy, relaxed environment by their supervision and personal example. The director also resides in the dorm and is the final authority. Directors and GAs are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Flowerman family started Career Explorations in 2003, and we are proud of the hundreds of wonderful young people who now comprise our outstanding CE alumni network. We take an interest in our alumni and you can count on us for a college recommendation, a phone call to a potential employer, or just another friend with whom to exchange ideas.

We are passionate about making certain that your son or daughter will have the best possible summer experience. We will expect them to live up to our reasonable standards of behavior, but we anticipate that both you and we will be proud of their accomplishments by summer’s end.
