An entrepreneur is an individual who has as an idea or vision and is willing to take substantial risk in order to construct that vision into reality. Entrepreneur’s start companies, finance all or some of the risk, employ people, and ultimately genera
te revenue. Entrepreneurship is the heart of any economy. Entrepreneurs start all kinds of ventures from websites and clothing lines to financial institutions and medical facilities. Increasingly, social entrepreneurship is a term used for entrepreneurs who start non-profit organizations or businesses with a strong social mission.
We are passionate about the power of entrepreneurship and strongly encourage any student interested in exploring his or her entrepreneurial side to consider an internship at one of the many exciting start-up companies we have partnerships with.
Discovery Interns have worked in a variety of start-up businesses ranging from tech companies to fashion firms. All of the start-ups we work with are in the hands of experienced entrepreneurs, but Interns at these nascent firms get the opportunity to wear many hats and work on many exciting projects that would normally be left to full-time employees at a more established company. One of our entrepreneurship internships is a great chance to see what it really takes to start and run a business, and perhaps to be a part of the next big thing. If you want to start your own business in the future then a hands-on experience learning from the pros will be an awesome first step!
Past entrepreneurship Discovery Interns have:
- Setup a music festival including logos, hiring musicians, and promotions
- Built relationships directly with business owners to establish international trade agreements
- Generated new business opportunities through innovative marketing strategies and partnership ideas
- Developed new fashion designs for big label companies
- Enhanced website designs, functionality, and effectiveness
- And much, much more…
Testimonials

Intern was passionate about Entrepreneurship and Business and worked with a high end luxury beauty and yoga designer called Plank. Bennett learned first-hand what it takes to own and run his own business, assisting the founder and designer with her company. Bennett studied international relations aspects and was able to establish international trade with other countries, for example.

Intern is deeply fascinated by Entrepreneurship, Business, and Public Relations. CE placed her in exactly those fields of interest with a Communications Business. Sara was amazed at how much she was trusted with client relations, public relations, and business decisions within an Entrepreneurial setting.
- Sara

My favorite part of the job was new things each day. I cannot imagine
working on the same thing day in and day out. So it was awesome to do
so many different projects and learn about so many different aspects of
business in one summer
- Carly

Before the internship began I could not have dreamed of having the
ability to establish international trade for my company. But, my
internship mentor helped me along the way and now we have the ability
to sell our products worldwide
- Rob

After his entrepreneurial internship my son learned so many things
about so many different business departments. He spent time in
marketing, public relations, accounting, and sales. He came into CE as
a boy and now a man
